Meet Steven Spielberg

Born on December 18, 1946 in the city of Cincinnati in Ohio, he is the most successful film director in the world of all time: Steven Spielberg.

Spielberg came from a Jewish family. His father Arnold Spielberg worked as an electrical engineer and his mother Leah Adler worked as a concert pianist and restorer. During his early years, Spielberg created adventure movies with his friends, where he made the first in a Scottsdale restaurant. At a young age, he charged a 25-cent admission fee for his home movies, while his sister sold popcorn.

Spielberg was a Boy Scout member in 1958. It was during this time that he completed the “photography merit badge” requirement by creating a short film titled “The Last Gunfight.” At the young age of 13, he successfully won an award for making a war movie titled “Escape to Nowhere,” which he based on the battle of East Africa. When he turned 16, Spielberg made his first independent film, Firelight, which he has written and directed. The movie has a budget of $ 500 and was able to generate a profit of $ 1.

Spielberg attended California State University Long Beach. His film career began when he worked as an unpaid intern at Universal Studios. He worked seven days a week in a row. While working for Universal Studios, he made Amblin in 1968, his first short film destined for theatrical release. When Universal Studio VP of Production Sidney Sheinberg saw his film, Spielberg became the youngest director ever to land a long-term deal with Universal. It is with Universal Studios that he began making blockbuster films that gave him worldwide recognition. Some of his famous works are “ET – The Extra-Terrestrial” in 1982, “Jurassic Park” in 1997 and “Minority Report” in 2002.
