Why should we use a water purifier at home?

What is purified water? It is water that has been processed through various stages and different methods to get rid of chemicals, bacteria, and other contaminations in the water. The water we drink or cook needs to be well purified for healthy reasons and therefore the use of a good quality and reliable water purifier is a must. To obtain pure disinfectant water, it is very important to understand how water purification works in order to intelligently compare the different types of water treatment plants on the market. This is because each brand has its own claim to a unique water filtration and purification system or technology.

Common water purification system

Portable pumps are designed to filter 5,000 to 50,000 liters per cartridge. These water purifiers are very active in removing contaminants down to the 0.2 to 0.3 micron range. Purified water can also be obtained from carbon filtering. These are very effective in removing bacteria and protozoa, such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia Lamblia from the water. However, they do not make the water virus-free. For this particular means of water purification, you need to opt for chemicals or UV light to make the water infection free.

Harmful chemicals are used in water purification

There are many effective chemical additives that are used for water purification. These are like those of iodine, chlorine, chlorine dioxide and sodium hypochlorite (bleach). The use of these chemicals is not recommended as they tend to leave a sort of unpleasant taste and odor in the water. It has also been found that they can lead to adverse health problems. Therefore, be wise when choosing a water purifier for your home use.

My favorite types of water purifiers

The risk of cancer, kidney disorders and other diseases has increased due to chemicals and contamination of drinking water. This has led to increased demand for home water purification and filtration systems. In my opinion, it is better to use a portable water purification device, also commonly known as point-of-use (POU) water filter treatment systems. Technically these are intended to be used for field water disinfection. One of the main advantages is that these portable water purifiers are autonomous units, that is, you do not need other accessories. In any case, make your comparison to choose the type of water purifier that suits your budget and your needs.

So, in short, drinking water is collected from various untreated sources such as rivers, lakes, ponds, etc. And in general people try to purify water by using chemicals, which is by no means the best water purification solution. In all circumstances, it is better to have drinking water purifiers as they are safer and make the water much more palatable to drink.
