Is your computer too slow? How to speed up your computer in three steps

If you find that your computer is too slow and causing you problems, there is one main cause of this problem and it is in the registry of the computer.

The computer registry is where all the information about your PC is stored and is a directory that the computer tries to access every time it wants to use a program, change desktop settings, or even use a modem or other hardware.

For example, if you want to open Microsoft Word, your computer will access the registry to run it. The registry contains a lot of information based on your computer’s software, hardware, and other settings.

Your computer has the capacity to store thousands of entries in its registry and new ones are added every time you try to access the registry or download some files over the Internet, install a new program or simply change some settings.

As soon as these entries increase they tend to make your computer too slow and affect its performance and when the errors start to occur that is when you will see windows behaving strangely and crashing.

By having a clean registry, you will also maintain your computer’s performance at the same time. It is imperative that you clean your computer.

There are several steps you need to take to fix this problem and the last one is to repair the registry. Here’s why.

#1 Problem. There are too many files and programs on your computer.

Your registry has a 90% chance of having errors. This is because it gets too big and what you need to know here is that even if you delete the programs, the entries for them will remain in the registry.

Solution. Delete as many programs, files, and documents as you can from your computer. This will allow you in the last step to remove the registry entries for them and have your computer running like new.

#2 Problem. Windows is taking too long to find what it needs to work properly.

When you delete a lot of programs or even when you install a lot of programs, Windows just installs them anywhere on the hard drive that it can. This is not a problem at first, but as more programs, documents, and games are installed, it will slow down.

Have you ever noticed that the hard drive light or activity light starts flashing when you try to start a program or game? Have you also noticed that this seems to go on for longer and that programs take longer to start up and open? This is because all the individual files for each program are increasingly scattered all over your computer and it takes a long time for Windows to find them, slowing down your computer and even causing it to freeze and stop.

Solution.

This is a two step solution.

1. Go to windows disk cleanup program which you can find in accessories then system tools and then run it. This will remove files that Windows no longer needs and compress files that Windows rarely uses.

2. Run the Windows disk defragmentation program located in the same folder. This will arrange all the files for each program in the correct order. This may take an hour or two the first time you run it, but the results are worth it.

#3 Problem. Your Windows registry is full of errors and it is too big and it is slowing down Windows.

A major problem with Windows is that it doesn’t automatically clean its own registry and can’t fix errors, and even if a program is completely uninstalled, the entries aren’t removed.

You can see this in action if you decide to install a program again. You will find that the settings you had before are still there. This is because they are still stored in the Windows registry.

Solution. Download a free registry scanner. This will find all errors in your registry immediately. It will then allow you to remove all the entries for the programs you removed in step one by compacting the registry. It will then find all the errors and finally find any malicious spyware or worse hiding in your registry.

Once you have done this, you can repair the compact registry and fix it with a click of the mouse. Doing this will speed up your computer and make it run like new and you will no longer find your computer too slow.
