Kitchen cabinet hardware installation

You must know that installing a kitchen cabinet can be a bit tricky. This may discourage you from moving forward, but rest assured that with some basic information you can complete this task successfully. The first and most important thing to do before you start is the proper measurements. You must make accurate measurements, make sure you put enough time and effort into this step. You don’t want to run into problems halfway through and start over. The best thing about installing kitchen cabinet appliances yourself is that you can configure it however you like. You’ll get the precise hardware you like and need, and as a bonus, you’ll save a lot of money by not hiring a professional to do it for you.

Let’s see the different options available. You should know that these options vary greatly depending on the type of hardware you want to install. Usually the first thing on the list to install is the hinges. You can find a large number of hinge designs on the market, such as flush mounts and surface mounts (these two are the most common). Surface hinges are much easier to install than the other versions, all you have to do is install the hinges on the front of the cabinet after taking a few basic measurements.

Start by holding the door in an elevated position so that you can mark the hinge positions. The next step requires another person to help you by holding the door. You can call your friend or neighbor to help you here. Ask him to hold the door in place while you drill and attach the hinges. After completing this step, be sure to screw them into place. All you have to do now is try them out. Do the doors spin freely now? If so, then congratulations on successfully installing surface hinges. Be sure to finish mounting the rest of the cabinet doors.

Flush mount hinges are more difficult to install because you have to mark the offsets on the inside of your cabinet. This type of hinge wraps around the cabinet door and is usually attached to the rear. The rest of the installation process is very similar to the other type of hinge we discussed. You will still need a helper to successfully install flush mount hinges.
