When it comes to NFL quarterback rankings, it’s hard to know who to trust. But if we’re to make a truly objective assessment, we must look beyond recent Super Bowl winners. In addition to the obvious talent of the NFL’s top quarterbacks, we must also consider their future potential. We rank them based on the quarterbacks’ most recent season, their entire body of work, and their future potential. Below we’ll take a closer look at the NFL quarterback rankings in 2022.
Eric Barriere: The third-ranked QB rankings in this class is a dual-threat quarterback with elite athletic ability. While he doesn’t have the size or speed of the other top quarterbacks, his ability to take advantage of all of his athletic traits has him ranked highly. He stands at 6’4″ and weighs 216 pounds, and he has tremendous arm strength. Regardless of the quarterback rankings in 2022, Strong is an excellent prospect for an NFL team.
Derek Carr: Despite the hype, Derek Carr has been a mediocre fantasy quarterback over the past two seasons. However, he has shown some improvement in recent years. He avoided turnover-worthy plays and has increased his aggressiveness. His intended air yards per passing attempt have climbed from 6.8 to 8.1. This year’s rookie quarterback will be a top-two pick in NFL quarterback rankings 2022. So, he may be worth keeping an eye on.

Desmond Ridder: While Corral’s numbers don’t differentiate him from the second group, he is a highly skilled passer. He threw for more yards than any other QB in the NCAA. The YAC stats are also impressive, but he’s not a dynamic player outside of the structure. Corral fits well into Matt Canada’s offense, which demands YAC throws but also gives him plenty of playaction. In addition to his accuracy, Corral is also tough, so he’ll be a great fit for the Steelers.
Denard Robinson – As the first quarterback in NFL quarterback rankings, Robinson has great arm strength and downfield placement. He is short, but has huge calves. He also has “Arm Talent,” meaning he can throw with velocity and distance, even when he’s on the run. Additionally, Robinson can make throws off the platform and on the run. He also has the ability to read coverages and read options. With all this, Robinson is a top pick for the 2020 season.
Trevor Lawrence – Though he had a strong rookie year, he was not as effective in the playoffs. His statistics didn’t improve enough to make him the top pick in NFL quarterback rankings in 2022. Still, Glass played well in every game for the Patriots in 2021 despite his lackluster performance in Grambling. In the end, Glass finished the season with 19 touchdowns and zero interceptions. However, he needs to show that the lackluster 2021 season was not entirely his fault.
Desmond Ridder – Despite his size, this young quarterback can move well and is a fast runner. His forty yard dash time is 4.52 and his vertical jump is 36. He looks to make plays from the pocket, but he’s also capable of escaping. He could benefit from learning from veteran quarterbacks. Then again, he’ll need to redevelop his arm strength to play in the NFL.
