Any Puerto Rico vacation checklist should include the Caparra Ruins Historical Park and Museum. This park includes the ruins of the first settlement created by the explorer Ponce De León, and the settlement began in 1508. The site includes the Museum of the Conquest and Colonization of Puerto Rico, which includes many historical documents and numerous artifacts from the past.

The Cathedral of San Juan Bautista is another attraction not to be missed, and this is true, whether you are a religious person or not. The first cathedral was built in the early 15th century and includes a marble tomb for the first governor of Puerto Rico. Montoso Gardens is another very popular attraction and a must see for any Puerto Rico vacation checklist. These botanical gardens cover more than ninety acres and, in addition to exotic plants and beautiful flowers, you will also find fruits. There are more than six hundred species included in these gardens, and this includes fruits, nuts, spices, flowers, and other types of plants. There is a five dollar fee for adults to enter the gardens, but children are not charged a fee.
