It’s true that remodeled kitchens provide a good return when selling your home, but such a project is very complicated, expensive, and often a headache. Instead of a complete overhaul, give your kitchen a fresh look by installing new appliances and replacing outdated cabinet hardware with modern pieces.

Another simple improvement for your kitchen includes changing faucets and light fixtures. It refreshes the bathrooms in the same way as the kitchen. Strongly consider painting the entire interior of your house, especially if you haven’t done it in a while. When you’re refinishing, choose light neutral colors. While dark or bright colors may be fashionable and look good, they limit buyers’ ability to imagine the home as their own. A light, neutral color will clean up the walls without turning any customers off.

Although you may love your neon beer sign in your living room, some buyers may not be attracted to such personal items. Try making your house more generic and hide your fancy belongings; try to make it look like a model home. Help the buyer imagine their own belongings on the wall.

Keep your house clean. This costs nothing, but it makes all the difference. Nobody wants to pay a good price for a messy and dirty house. If you’re a pack rat, now is the time to break the habit and throw it all out or invest in a storage unit to put all your junk in. Avoid a cluttered look and make sure everything has a place and is stored away.
