Social Marketing Secrets: Discover the Power of Your Twitter “Tweet-Immonials”

Social media and social marketing is truly a new frontier on the internet. There are so many ways you can use top sites like Facebook, YouTube, EzineArticles, your blog, and Twitter. You are only limited to your imagination and creativity.

I still enjoy people saying that social marketing is just a waste of time on the internet. Didn’t someone once say that they could only see the need for a handful of desktop computers? We all know how that turned out, right?

The power of testimony

If you want to sell a product or service, we all know you just have to have testimonials, right? Testimonials unleash the power of social proof. In other words, you could say that your product is great, and some might believe that to be true. But many would remain skeptical, thinking that of course it’s easy to say that your product is excellent.

But when other people say that your product or service is great, those statements become much more credible. Social proof is one of the most powerful forces in advertising. Why else would they put other people in the ads? Especially famous people who have nothing to do with the product. This is the power of social proof.

Social proof meets social marketing

Now let’s take a closer look at the combination of social proof and social marketing on Twitter. There are two easy ways to find out what people are saying about you and your products and services on Twitter:

1) On the right hand side of your Twitter profile page, you’ll see a set of navigation options. They begin with “start” and are followed by “@YourName”. When you click on “@YourName”, you will see all the tweets that included “@YourName” in them

2) Also on the right hand side is a search box. You can type your name there and see all the times your name is mentioned without the “@” symbol.

How to capture your “Tweet-imonials”

When you see someone tweeting a positive comment about you and your products and services, there’s an easy way to “capture” what’s being said. Next to each tweet, on the right hand side, is a small star-shaped button. When you want to save a tweet-imonial, just click that button and that tweet will go to your favorites tab in the navigation on the right hand side of your Twitter page.

How to take advantage of your “Tweet-imonials”

There are at least two great ways to leverage and get the most out of your tweet-monials:

1) When you collect tweet-imonials by “starring” them, they will all appear in your Favorites link on your Twitter page. So when someone comes to your page and clicks on Favorites, you’ll see all the good things that have been said about your products and services.

2) Copy and paste the tweet-imonials on the sales pages and other pages of your website or blog. For this, I would recommend getting permission from the person who said it.

You are now leveraging your social marketing to create social proof that drives more profit for you.
