What to remember when designing websites

1. Heavy files

Not everyone has a super fast connection to the World Wide Web. Business entities that want to ensure that a maximum number of people visit their websites should adhere to a simpler scheme when designing their web pages. This means avoiding unnecessary heavy files and videos or background music as it makes it difficult to load and access these websites.

2. Fixed font size

Web pages are all about providing a channel through which people can get the maximum amount of information. Sometimes fonts on web pages are too small or not legible due to some readers having poor eyesight or other factors. For these reasons, the web page must allow its visitors to change the font size to suit their comfort.

3. Pop-ups

According to surveys and studies conducted, Internet users hate this feature as it makes navigation difficult for them and clutters their desktops. The same goes for the links that automatically open in the new window. This is why these features should be used sparingly. Some websites make the fatal mistake of putting important information in these pop-ups. Some web surfers use anti-popup tools to block these popups, thus important information is lost for the reader. This information should always be provided in a central place on web pages.

4. Use common image formats

Image formats such as Graphics Interchange Format (GIF), Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG), Portable Network Graphics (PNG), and vector graphics are preferred when uploading images because they allow the image to :

has. Be converted from opaque to completely transparent (transparency)
b. Store in a reduced file size by managing groups of pixels as a single element through a mathematical algorithm (compression)
against See the images before through interlacing
d. Be animated without the use of a browser plugin as in the case of gif images
me. Load progressively allowing images to be viewed easily

5. Website content

The web content of websites should be carefully scrutinized and built around the ‘you attitude’. Potential keywords should be strategically placed in web content to improve its effectiveness. Also, when using colors other than white in the background, the provided link colors must be different to highlight them properly.

6. Navigation

When designing websites, it is important to provide adequate and efficient navigation tools. According to surveys, if web surfers do not find the respective web pages within three clicks, they tend to leave the website altogether. It is better to provide a navigation bar on all pages.
