Benefit Most From Using Teamtag

When you work in a large team, it can be hard to quickly and effectively reach the people you need to communicate with. Tags let you easily group together your team members by their role, project, or expertise, so when you want to chat with them, you can do so without the risk of sending notifications to people who aren’t involved or have no need for them.

The best part about Teamtag is that you can use them in channels, private teams, or even across multiple teams—and you can manage your tags in the admin settings of either the app or website. You can also create custom tags to help you organize your team and make communicating easier. And if you want to see which of your colleagues are using a certain tag, just ask.

If you have a large team and frequently engage in lengthy conversations with your colleagues, Teamtag is a great tool to try out. Rather than @ mentioning everyone in your team or channel, you can simply add the tag to your message and anyone who’s been assigned that tag will receive a notification, just like they would have received if you had tagged them individually.

What Types of Teams Benefit Most From Using Teamtag?

For example, say you have a big marketing project coming up that involves many of your teammates. If you were to send a message in your general channel with this information, each of your marketing colleagues will receive an unnecessary notification that will interrupt their workflow and disrupt their focus. But by creating a tag for the marketing team and adding that to your message, you can instantly reach all of your marketing colleagues with just one action.

Aside from reducing unnecessary notifications, another great thing about tagging is that it makes it easier to assign tasks. With a simple click, you can assign a task to a group of people based on the roles or expertise that have been added to that tag. You can also edit or delete a tag at any time from the “Manage tags” option in the admin settings of the app or website.

In addition to its usefulness in team communication, Teamtag is a great way for instructors to debrief their students during simulation training. In fact, in a prestudy conducted during the previous night shift simulation at Charite Medical School in Berlin, Germany, all instructors who used TeamTag reported that they found the tool very helpful.

To get started with tagging, go to your admin settings in the app or website and select “Manage tags.” You can then add new tags by clicking the plus sign and selecting an existing tag. You can also edit the name of a tag, as well as add or remove members from that tag. If you’re a team owner, you can also turn on or off the ability for team members to create their own tags.
